By Hina Anjum: People, mark your calendars for July 31st, 2015. And smile, because it will be Friday! #TGIF
Grab your seats before someone else does, and don’t forget to put your seats belts on as we are to hit the road with Pakistan’s first ever road trip film.
“This is Pakistan’s first road-trip film and I am confident it will garner a huge audience,” said Wajahat Rauf, director and producer of the upcoming film Karachi se Lahore.
“Karachi Se Lahore is a comedy road movie that is light-hearted, funny, occasionally romantic and entertaining. My goal was to make a movie that was fresh, upbeat and smart. No one had ever made a road movie in Pakistan. I wanted mine to be the first,” he added.
Cinema is coming back for sure. Taking inspiration from Mr. Shoaib Mansoor, Wajahat Rauf, through his film, is all set to give much-needed boost to the film industry of Pakistan. “There is a gentleman by the name of Shoaib Mansoor here in Pakistan. He has been brilliant at everything he’s done during his career. His two movies, ‘Khuda Kay Liye’ and ‘Bol’, were what started the revival.”
The title ‘Karachi se Lahore’ was suggested by the co-writer Yasir Hussain, the talented actor who has even ventured into the field of script writing. Starring Javed Sheikh, Ayesha Omer, Shehzad Sheikh, Rashid Naz, Yasir Hussain, Eshita Syed, Ahmed Ali, Aashir Wajahat and Mantahaa Tareen Maqsood, KSL is going to be a fun ride for all.
The trailer of the movie caused a great stir among the people, and we know you must be having many questions. But to find out where this roller-coaster journey will end, you have to watch the film!
Shiraz Uppal and Noori’s Ali Noor and Ali Hamza are behind the film’s music, which comprises five exclusive soundtracks, two Bollywood-inspired songs, and a signature Noori title song ‘Dil Ki Baat’. However, Ayesha Omar has sung the item song — titled Tooti Frooti — herself.
The comedy-drama Karachi se Lahore is slated to release worldwide on July 31st. We hope that once released, Wajahat Rauf’s biggest fear i.e. people will not like the film and will walk out of the theater saying that they wasted their time and money watching a worthless film, vanishes forever.
In these times of depression, it would be fun for one to be entertained thoroughly for 2 ½ hours. Go out and book your seats now to avoid misfortune. Just 7 days to go!
