What an amazing season of PSL is going on out there. All that excitement and entertainment, those high fives, cheers and looks of disappointment is just an ultimate ride of emotions on peaks and the throwing of tantrums at other team supporters! Of course the ‘city wars’ won’t ever cease especially now when we have a solid reason behind this.
PSL’s opening replenishes the debut of Shehzad Roy in PSL with the song Ballay Ballay.
Punjabi song ho aur dhamakedar na ho. Impossible!
The commentary being taken over by none other than Rameez Raja- Who can escape his witty and charismatic commentary skills. Alongside Alan Wilkins who’s Urdu commentary is the cutest thing to hear in the field of PSL. Who can forget him saying; ‘Buhot Nazuk Surat e Haal Hai”, wearing Pakistan’s traditional clothes and singing Pakistan Anthems along with Ali Zafar!
International Players are becoming the charm of this tournament! They have made PSL more fun to watch, giving us entertaining doses now and then.
Let’s get some PSL spirit by listening to the teams songs:
For this year’s theme song who could have fitted better than the Nation’s crush- Momina Mustehsan! Though “Cricket Jorray Pakistan” is not a very catchy or a high spirited song, but who cares Momina is singing it as they say.
Even better is the recent song for Islamabad United which will end you up whistling ‘Kitna Rola Dalay Ga’. The producer of the song is Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan – a.k.a Xulfi of Call band and is sang by Abdullah Qureshi in a most powerful voice you have ever heard.
Shahid Afridi keeping the legacy of making everyone saying: “Yaaay! Lala! Here he comes- Boom Boo…. Oh no! There he goes.” No matter what Lala, we still love you.
When a song is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan you know it will be a masterpiece and so it is. Main Zalmi Hoon Peshawar Ka is beautifully composed giving the power to the team, driving them to perform with all that zeal.
‘Dama Dam Mast Qalandar, Qalandar Lal Qalandar’, a brilliant super energetic and Sufi mix song by Asrar Shah. That singer knows how to take our souls and make it want to swirl with the sound of his voice.
The 2017 song is by Shafqat Amanat Ali. At the Qalander Night all the celebrities were seen on the stage singing the song along with Shafqat Amanat Ali were Zohaib Azhar, Noor ul Hassan, Asrar Shah and Quratulain Baloch, Stereo Nation and the brand ambassador Shaan.
“How does Lahore Qalandars stay upbeat you ask; it’s the mantra of PAPPU YAR TANG NA KER!”
‘Chaa Jayee’ by Fakhir, he has come after so long on screen and what a song he came up with! The start is very traditional and gave it a very historical look then it goes to really fun beats.
The craze has been never ending one and it seems that the players are enjoying their team songs by being part of the videos- Flashing with style and all that oomph! A lot more has to come. Holding our hearts and hoping our favorite team wins. Let’s see to whom the trophy goes to but until then let’s enjoy the fun and the excitement that PSL is giving us.
