By Hadia Malik: After the vehement success of Waar 1, the fans dreamt of seeing its sequel made. Two years after the movie a sequel is in planning. The movie was released on Eid-ul-Azha in 2013 and made a record breaking business in the country. The industry demanded an addition to the amazing work shown in the movie. Writer and director of the sequel Hassan Waqar Rana has told media that the first spell of Waar sequel’s shooting will commence by end of June 2015. This news is very nail gritting for every cinema lover.
Speaking about the actors, Waqar said that a lot of new talent will be seen in the upcoming sequel. He said that people who loved Waar 1 will surely love Waar 2 because of the new talent and also the cinematography. The writer/director said that he will take the sequel to new heights by taking assistance from international media houses. Speaking about the new venture, Waqar said that he is very excited as well as very scared about the challenges and experiences that this new project brings. But he is sure that the masses will love it, because of the new techniques they are experimenting with and the talented new actors that they have on board.
Talking about the cast of the movie, Waqar said that he will be taking new talent as well as retaining the established names in the film. He said that Ayub Khoso, Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed will be prominent names for the film.
The movie will be a collaborative effort between Mindworks Media and ARY Films. Sources say that these two media houses will collaborate not only for this project but will also come together for another movie by the name of Delta Echo Foxtrot.
Waar directed by the legendary Bilal Lashari not only won fame among the masses but also generated revenue worth of Rs 200/- million. The movie is also proud to bag numerous awards, especially in the field of ‘Best film’ ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Director’.
